La semana ultima
Hello everyone!
On our last week in the MTC our Pday gets changed to the Saturday right before we leave. So if you were wondering why I didn't send an email yesterday, that's why. Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous for Monday! It's so weird to think how fast everything has gone and that I'm going to be in a whole different country in 2 days. I'm extremely excited though. Half of me is dying to get out of the MTC but the other half just knows I'm not fully ready when it comes to speaking Spanish and everything! However, I'm excited to finally get out and have the adventure really begin.
Today is our Pday and we've spent pretty much the whole day sending last minute things home, packing, and cleaning! Tomorrow we have priesthood and sacrament meeting like usual and a going away fireside tomorrow night.
Tuesday was without a doubt the best day of the week. Usually when a general authority comes to speak at a fireside the word gets out before the devotional even starts. But on Tuesday we didn't hear anything all day so we were expecting to just have one of the MTC leaders speak. We were all blown away, however, when Elder Holland just strolled on in! He stood up there with
out a lesson plan, just opened his scriptures, and let the spirit speak through him. It was incredible. He stressed the importance of being lifetime missionaries and of being lifetime representatives of Jesus Christ. He said that our lives should be a constant spiritual incline to the Celestial Kingdom! He said that too many missionaries come back from their missions and immediately go back to the way they were before they left. They immediately go back to what they think is "real life." In his intimidating-powerful-loving-somewhat scary-spiritual voice he said, while pointing his finger at us, "YOUR MISSION IS REAL LIFE. Your mission is the closest thing to "real life" that you'll ever see. If you expect to go out on your missions and change lives forever, don't you DARE come back from your missions not having let your mission change your life forever too." I absolutely love Elder Holland. He is extremely motivating!

Well I've got some more packing to do, but I just want everyone to know how much I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I know with all my heart that it is true. It has brought me and my family so much happiness and I can't wait to provide others with that same eternal happiness! I love you all and pray for you! My next email will be all the way from Nicaragua...HERE I GO!!
