Today is P-day once again. You would not believe how fast my life is going here in Nicaragua. To be honest there's not a whole lot new this week! It was a normal week of helping our investigators progress and doing office stuff. Turns out they haven't given me transfers yet! I'm a little confused, but yesterday the assistants told us that President might have me stay with Elder Payne until the end of this transfer, so that I can help him out with his Spanish and stuff, because he's still really new. That would mean that I'll be here until February 6th! We'll see what happens. I actually would like to stay here until the end of this transfer because we have a lot of baptismal dates for the end of this month!
I really don't have a lot to write about this week. But I guess I could share with you one of my favorite scriptures to share with investigators. Mosiah 2:41 "And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it." We use this scripture a lot as we teach in order to promise blessings to investigators. It's very likely that people won't keep commandments unless they have motivation to do it! When we obey the commandments we are promised happiness, spiritual blessings, temporal blessings, and most of all eternal life. It really is that simple! If we obey what our Father in Heaven asks of us then we will receive all that he has in store for us. What he has in store for us is an eternal home. A place where we can live in never-ending happiness with our families and God as resurrected, immortal beings. I feel like the blessings definitely outweigh the little that is asked of us! I hope we can all prayerfully think about what we need to improve this year in order to progress towards that eternal goal!
Love all of you guys,
Elder Parrish
