I can't even tell you guys how excited I am for conference this week! I have gained a love and appreciation for conference that I didn't have before the mission. There are lots of our investigators and converts who are really excited to finally hear the prophet, apostles, and other general authorities speak live! I invite you all to have your pen and paper ready to take notes! The Spirit will guide us and give us lots of promptings if we do our part and are prepared to write them all down :)
Elder Mann and I had another great week. On Tuesday, we had a mission leader's council meeting at President Russell's house. He and Sister Russell taught us that it's not good enough to just be "honorable" missionaries. We need to be completely dedicated, consecrated, and valiant missionaries--Faithful in ALL things.
On Friday, we had zone conference and Elder Mann and I taught the zone the things we had learned from President and Sister Russell on Tuesday. Our zone has made lots of progress during the month of September. In August the zone baptized 10 people in total. This month we baptized 12. Seven of which were priesthood age men. We are excited to keep working hard as a zone in October and find the people that the Lord has prepared.
Yesterday in church, our stake president gave a talk. He said something that I really liked (I'll do my best to translate it), "As members of the church we often falsely believe that a knowledge and strong testimony of the restored gospel guarantees us a place in the kingdom of God...but it's not so much what we know that's important, it's what we DO." It sounds a lot cooler in Spanish, but I think you guys get where I'm coming from. :)
Love and miss you all! Happy conference weekend!
