Hey guys,

Well, after being in Granada for about 6 months I had transfers and now I'm in my new area! I will miss Granada a lot because it really is a special place for missionary work with lots of humble people. It was hard to say goodbye to the recent converts: Julio Cesar, Hildebrando, José, Maritza, and Maria. Elder Ayala received a good new companion though so they'll keep things rolling in Granada.

I'm now in Zone Managua as zone leader with Elder Velásquez. It is my second time being in a zone in the capital. Our area is called Las Palmas. Elder Velásquez is from Guatemala and has been out about 13 months. He already has been in this area 6 months, so we'll probably only be together one transfer, so that I can get to know the zone and the area and then I'll receive a new companion. Our area is pretty wealthy with all paved roads and lots of businesses. We live right in front of the church building on the second story of a house.  The bishop asked me to speak in church yesterday about missionary work, and it went well. I'm still getting to know the area and the ward members, but I know that the Lord has sent me here for a reason! I'm positive that we'll have lots of success. In just a few short days we have put a couple baptismal dates with new investigators and we can see how the Lord is preparing the hearts of the people.

I have an interesting fact for you: the president of Nicaragua lives in our area! His name is Daniel Ortega. It's pretty much impossible to visit him because the whole block around his house is covered with police and security guards. A few missionaries have tried leaving notes with his secretary and stuff to set an appointment and talk with him but he doesn't seem too interested.  (haha.)

I haven't been able to take pictures because I don't have a camera yet but I attached a picture of Elder Velásquez and I that was taken with his camera the day of transfers.

Love and miss you guys!
Until next week,
Elder Parrish
