Elder Chacaj (pronounced chalk-Ah for those who were wondering) and I were both a little nervous as we started this transfer, because we are both so new! However, we have been working really hard and the Lord is definitely making up for our weaknesses and lack of experience.

This week, we have been working really hard to help prepare a young couple named Erick and Bernarda for their baptism! They are going to be baptized next Saturday, the 28th. Erick is about 35 years old and is extremely intimidating! He loves lifting weights and is HUGE. He´s got two diamond earrings and two studs in his eyebrow. From a first glance he doesn´t look at all like someone who would be interested in the gospel, but he is one of the nicest guys I´ve ever met! His wife, Bernarda, is 22 years old, and at first wanted nothing to do with the missionaries, because all of her family is Catholic. When Elder Chacaj and his trainer first visited them they were having marriage problems, but they both started to progress slowly and now they have both received answers to their prayers that the Church is true!
They started coming to church, praying and reading scriptures together, and it is amazing to see how much they have improved their relationship. We have really tried to focus all of our teachings around eternal families, and how one day they too can live together forever in happiness. They are an awesome family and I´m super excited to see them be baptized next Saturday! WHOOOO HOO!

Next Saturday, we also have the baptism of a lady named Rosalina. She is about 45 years old and lives alone with her 3 kids. She became interested in the Church because her ex-husband is a member and she went to church with him a few times. She loves coming to church, and says that there´s no doubt in her mind that the Church is true! She has had a hard time stopping drinking coffee, but has stopped now so that she can get baptized on Saturday!
Right now, we have a few other families and investigators that we are teaching regularly. The work is improving a lot here in this area!

Elder Chacaj is awesome!  He is fun but also works really hard and knows how to help people progress. I feel like he´s been here a lot longer than just 3 months! I´m super excited for this transfer.

I attached a few more pictures of Granada and Lake Managua.

Love,
Elder Parrish
