Dinner at the Bishop's
This week flew by because we have been really busy! Changes are this upcoming Wednesday. This week we had to prepare all the flight information of the 19 missionaries who are returning home on Thursday, and make sure they are all ready to go. We also have been preparing new missionary packets for the 20 new missionaries that are coming on Monday. It´s been hectic! I have had to learn fast but I think that I will survive just fine once Elder Rose leaves because Elder Rose has taught me really well.
Managua South Mission Home
I´ve never really been the type of person who enjoys calling or talking to strangers on the phone, but I´ve had to learn to get over that weakness fast this week.  (haha.)  This week I had to call all of the parents of the 19 missionaries who are going home this change to make sure they had received their child´s flight plans and answer the millions of questions that they had. It was a pretty interesting experience actually, talking to all the parents of the missionaries who are going home. The parents are all very much ready for their missionaries to come home!! A few of the moms were shouting for joy when I called them.  A few of the parents (mainly the latino parents) started telling me the whole life story of their missionary, from the time he could walk up until now in their mission! I promise that´s not racist, Latinos just enjoy bragging about their children :)

Managua is a little different from Granada. Managua is a HUGE city so there is actually a ton of traffic. The mission office has a truck that we share, so I´ve actually been able to drive every now and then when I need to go do something important. It´s been very interesting driving here in Nicaragua. There´s street rules and stop lights, but the problem is that there are hardly any police cars to enforce the law. So it can be kind of dangerous sometimes.

Just to explain a little bit more about the mission home and answer a few questions...the mission home has 6 rooms, with bathrooms in each room. A full kitchen-WHOOO! A laundry room, a dining room, and a family room. Hot water has been a nice change. I got so used to showering with cold water in my other areas that I actually had to adjust back to using hot water to shower!
Food: in the mornings for breakfast we just eat whatever we´ve bought. Cereal, eggs, toast, etc. For lunch the whole office and President eats together. We usually just order Subway or McDonalds or food from some of the other restaurants here. It´s been such a relief to have some American food! I finally have a small break from the rice, beans, and fried bananas haha. We eat dinner at like 9:00 when we get back to the house from working, usually just sandwiches or something simple. Hopefully I gain back some of the weight I´ve lost!  We do our own laundry now. In my other areas we paid someone to do it, but seeing as how we have a washer and dryer we just do it ourselves here.

I am really jealous of all the people who get to go to the Brigham City temple open house this week! Seeing all the pictures of the temple makes me really excited to go there when I get back.
I´m very to happy to hear that the football team started off the year with a big win against Weber! Be sure to keep me updated on how they are doing, especially on how Mckay is doing.
I love and miss you all! Thank you for all the prayers and support.
Love, Elder Parrish
