This week went by way too fast! I was crazy busy every single day so the week just flew by.
My companion and I have been working hard with our investigators this week, but we´re also always searching for new people to teach. We haven´t seen a whole lot of progress in the families that we are teaching, but I know that if we keep searching than the Lord will place in our path those who are ready. Unfortunately we haven´t had any luck with the whole Juan situation. It looks like he´s going to have to wait until January to get his Cedula so that he can get married and baptized. The good thing is that he is still excited about it and says that he will be just fine waiting and will get baptized as soon as he possibly can. So we´re going to keep working with him to keep him excited while he´s waiting.
This week we were contacting in our area and decided to contact a street that we hadn´t worked much on. We found a new family named Pedro and Virginia that the missionaries had visited about a year ago. They are a young family with two kids under 4 years old. They had gone to church 2 times but then the missionaries had transfers and because of bad communication the 2 new missionaries that were in the area never went to visit them. On Wednesday, we went to visit them but unfortunately just Pedro was there. But we taught him about the restoration of the gospel and he understood it PERFECTLY. It was incredible. The only other person I can remember that understood it that well was Karla who I baptized while I was in La Concepción. After the lesson Pedro explained the lesson back to us even more clearer than I think we taught it! It was amazing the way the Spirit worked through us and opened his heart so that he could understand the truth. He seems really excited about coming back to church again. This family is GOLDEN.
I´m sure you all heard about the earthquake in Costa Rica. Here in Managua, we basically just felt the tail of the earthquake but it was nothing bad at all! It was awesome to experience my first little earthquake though. I was standing up and started swaying back and forth, I thought I was going to pass out or something, but then I steadied myself against the wall and everything kept swaying back and forth. So that´s when I knew it was a little earthquake. The beds slid around a little bit but it only lasted like 15 seconds and then passed. It was interesting though!
That´s about it for this week! I´ve gotta go!
Love,
Elder Parrish
