Lovin' Life in Nicaragua

Hey guys,

Thank you for your emails and updates on how all the family is doing! I know the Lord will keep blessing you.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras Temple

This week was pretty normal for my companion and I. We have been teaching lots of new families and helping them progress spiritually. This weekend was the dedication of the Tegucigalpa, Honduras temple. Nicaragua was in the Guatemala temple district, but now that the Honduras temple has been dedicated it will make going to the temple a little faster and easier for the Nicaraguan members. They broadcasted the cultural event on Saturday night, which was basically a lot of cultural dances by the Honduranean youth members to celebrate the temple. President Uchtdorf was there, along with Elder Holland. We were allowed to invite investigators to the cultural event on Saturday night, so we literally invited EVERY investigator. However, only ONE showed up, and it was Hildebrando (who I told you about last week). He just blows my mind sometimes. He sat down at the cultural event with us and said, "Oh hey, President Uchtdorf is there! He's the second counselor to President Monson, right?" My mouth dropped. You just don't find investigators like him often. Afterwards, we asked him if he had any questions for us and he said with a smirk on his face, "No, no. Everything was great, I really liked it. But don't worry, if I have any questions I won't hesitate to ASK THE MISSIONARIES. Because when we have a questions we need to ASK THE MISSIONARIES, am I right?" Our mouths hit the floor again as we realized that he was referring to the talk that Elder Russell M. Nelson gave in last October's general conference. Turns out he read ALL of the talks from general conference last October and is really excited for general conference that is coming so soon, as am I!

Sunday was the broadcast of the dedication of the Honduras temple. Only the missionaries, and members that had passed an interview with the branch president were allowed to attend because it's such a sacred thing.  The dedicatory prayer was beautiful and I think it motivated a lot of the members here to start doing their family history work and missionary work to prepare Nicaragua for its own temple!

Today we went to Managua to have a P-day with all the zone leaders in the mission. We just played soccer and basketball. After that we ate Subway which was great :)

That's about it for this week! The sun is REALLY shining here in Granada.

 Love and miss you all!
