Hey guys! This week we had a lot of success

Zone Granada and Zone Los Pueblos
Zone Leaders from Los Pueblos and Granada
Hey guys!

Elder Parrish and Elder Arce
This week we had a lot of success and great experiences as a zone. On Wednesday, we combined with another zone called Los Pueblos in Masaya which is a nearby city and did splits between the two zones. I stayed in my area with Elder Arce from Costa Rica, who is one of the zone leaders of Zone Los Pueblos. Elder Arce and I were in the mission office together when I was secretary and he was assistant. It was awesome to work with him, because he has become one of my best friends in the mission. My companion, Elder Ayala, went to the other zone for the day and worked with Elder Curzon. We set goals for each companionship. The goals were to contact 10 families, put a baptismal date with a family, and have two lessons with new families. Elder Arce and I were able to reach all 3 goals that day along with a few other companionships. We gave out prizes for the companionships who reached all 3 goals. It was a great day for both zones with really high results.

On Friday, we did splits with the missionaries in our zone. I went and worked with a missionary named Elder Vargas in his area. We worked really hard despite the rain, but I must have ate some bad food that day, because I spent all Friday night throwing up! It's ironic, because just a few days before that, I had been bragging to my companion about how I don't remember ever having thrown up in the mission. I think it was the Lord trying to humble me a little bit :) haha. On Saturday, I still was able to work in my area, but I was really tired and had a stomach ache all day. I drank lots of water, Gatorade, and Pepto Bismol, and by Sunday morning I was feeling fine again.
Our recent converts are doing great. We have been teaching Jose and Maritza's 9 year old daughter, who is scheduled to get baptized this upcoming Saturday. A few sisters from the Relief Society have been stopping by Jose and Maritza's house a few times a week to read the scriptures with Maritza, and help her develop a habit of personal scripture study. Jose loves the Book of Mormon, and is already in the book of Jacob. José is a chef but has been jobless for a few months now. I don't remember if I ever told you guys, but when he was working as a chef in the United States he worked for all types of different restaurant and learned English, French, and Hebrew cooking.  He just accepted a job in a really nice restaurant in San Juan del Sur. The problem is that he will travel to San Juan del Sur and work for 15 days at a time, come home and rest a few days, and then he has to turn around and go right back. He is going to talk with his boss so he can get Sundays off and go to church.
I uploaded some pictures from the splits we did between the two zones and pictures we took last Monday as a district at the "beach" of Lake Nicaragua.
Love you all!
