Hello everyone!
I hope you all had a great week. On Wednesday, we had a meeting with our new mission president, President and Sister Russell to get to know them a little better. They showed us videos of their 4 kids, who are all grown up now. Two of them are married. We found out that President Russell and Sister Russell met at BYU. President Russell owned his own multi-million dollar business that he sold about 7 years ago. He packaged meat and cheese products, and had companies in different countries in Central and South America. After selling his business, President Russell and his wife spent the majority of their time taking cruises and playing tennis. (Haha.) He is really different than President Monestel, but I can tell that he is a very spiritual man, and he will help the mission have a lot of success! He seems to be very dedicated and obedient. It is very clear how much he and Sister Russell love the missionaries of this mission, even though he doesn't know them all yet. I am really excited to get to know them better and I know I have a lot to learn from them!

This Wednesday is transfers meeting. I have been here in Granada for about 6 months now, so it is very possible that I will be headed out! Elder Ayala and I have been finding incredible people to teach this week. I am bummed that I might be leaving, because we have lots of baptisms lined up for the next couple months! However, the important thing is that they get baptized, even if I'm not here :)
Although I wasn't able to see the 4th of July fireworks, I was still able to celebrate my companion's birthday with him! We woke up Thursday morning and started doing exercises, when we received a phone call from one of the district leaders. He told us that he was outside our house, and needed to talk to us. We walked outside a little surprised about why he was at our house so early in the morning, and we found almost all the missionaries in the zone outside our house! They started attacking Elder Ayala and throwing eggs and flour on him. It was hilarious. What a great way for him to start his birthday!
That night, I bought him an apple pie for his birthday and it was delicious.
Love you all!
