Lovin' Life in Nicaragua

Lovin' Life in Nicaragua

Monday, March 4, 2013

I know I probably say the same thing every week but this week really flew by fast! We did lots of divisions with other missionaries in the zone. On Wednesday, I worked in the area of Elder Bringhurst, one of the zone's district leaders. Elder Bringhurst is from Provo and he and I have become really good friends! On Thursday, I worked with Elder Chappell in my area again, and it went really good. On Friday, I worked with Elder Curzon, another one of the zone's district leaders, in his area. His area is La Estación, which is my old area! Unfortunately we had a really tight schedule and so we never had time to go visit the family that Elder Chacaj and I baptized (Erick and Bernarda). But I'm sure I'll have another chance soon!

Our zone is leading the mission so far in families baptized in March. So far, our zone has baptized 5 families. The mission still has a way to go to reach the goal of 60 families in March, but everyone is working hard to find the people that the Lord has prepared for us. Elder Franco and I have been contacting a lot of really positive families, and we will be visiting them this week to start teaching them. We were going to baptize the husband of a less-active lady, but it turns out he was never officially divorced from his first wife and so he needs to finish his divorce papers before he can get married to his current wife and get baptized. It should take 2-3 months. We are searching like crazy to find the family that the Lord is preparing for us to baptize in March!

Everything is going good with my companion. He is pretty sure he is going to have transfers though this Wednesday...we'll see! If he has transfers, then I'll receive my new companion this week.

Today for P-day we went just as a district to tour an old Catholic cathedral, ate hot dogs for lunch, and then walked by the beach. It was really fun. I am hoping that nobody in the zone has transfers because they're all awesome! I took lots of pictures.

Love you all! Talk to you next week.
